It is extremely important to care for yourself on a regular basis. And care must start at home. Practicing a regular skin care regime is the first step to a glowing, smooth skin.
Here are some basic steps you can follow to get started with your own skin care regime:
Step 1 : Cleansing
Cleansing is one of the most important steps to skin care. Our skin constantly comes into contact with pollutants such oil, dust and dirt. It becomes very important to wash our skin, even if just with a splash of cool water, so that these dust particles don't enter our pores and block them. It is especially recommended to clean your face before going to bed. It is also advisable to do so a few times throughout the day. You can cleanse with just splashing water, and use soap or face wash once a day, to maintain your skin well.
Step 2: Exfoliating
Exfoliation is the process of scrubbing and removing dead skin cells and dirt from your skin and pores. It increases blood circulation and promotes healing of skin cells. Exfoliation helps to keep your skin clear of problems such as pimples, white/ black heads and hair in-growths. To exfoliate effectively it is advisable to first wash with luke warm water, to open up your pores, then use a natural scrub to to exfoliate and then rinse off with cool water to seal the pores. It is advisable to exfoliate daily or atleast 2-3 times a week.
And don't just exfoliate your face, but use a natural body scrub to remove those in-growths and dead skin from your body as well.
Step 3: Tightening & Brightening
After exfoliation, it is advisable to seal your open pores shut to prevent dust entering in. The best way to do this is to use a face pack. A face pack seals your pores shut, tightening and brightening your skin, in the process. It also helps to add moisture to your skin. So, just apply a face pack/mask, keep it for 15-20 mins, or till it dries and rinse off with cool water for glowing soft skin. Do this 2-3 times a week for best results!
Step 4: Moisturising
After all this cleansing, it is important to keep your skin moisturized and well-hydrated throughout the day. A cream or moisturizer suited to your skin type is the best way to make certain of this. Just take a small amount and apply evenly for a soft smooth skin daily.
